ORANG ORANG BADUY DALAM LINTASAN POLITIK INDONESIA

Abstract

Dalam jangka waktu 40 tahun sejak 1978, kelompok Baduy ini telah banyak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan, terutama pada penguasaan ekonomi pasar dan perdagangan umum. Kelompok ini juga bersentuhan dengan aktifitas politik praktis.Kelompok ini juga yang ikut mempengaruhi orang Baduy (buyut) untuk terlibat dalam pamilihan umum (Pemilu). Masyarakat Baduy di desa Kenekes, Kecamatan Leuwidamar Banten, sejak lama membangun sistim pemerintahan sendiri dalam kerangka negara yang lebih luas diatasnya. Walaupun demikian, mereka tetap mematuhi nilai-nilai yang sudah ada dari buyut mereka. Walaupun masyarakat Baduy belum mendapatkan pendidikan formal dari pemerintah, mereka belajar dengan caranya sendiri untuk dapat memahami perkembangan diluar desanya seperti penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dan pengenalan handphone secara terbatas. Proses perubahan itu berjalan lebih cepat setelah kawasan Baduy menjadi cagar budaya yang banyak dikunjungi turis asing dan domestik. Masyarakat Baduy melihat segala aktifitas politik selama tidak menyentuh nilai nilai Baduy, dipandang sebagai bagian ketaatan kepada pemerintah yang menjadi bagian penting dari kehidupan tradisional Baduy. Walaupun sudah terjadi berbagai perubahan dalam kaitannya dengan hubungan timbal balik antara masyarakat Baduy dan bukan Baduy, diharapkan pemerintah memberikan proteksi terhadap keberlangsungan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat Baduy.

ABSTRACT
